Citibank’s Romanian unit has launched Citi’s
first smart banking branch in EMEA.
The branch is based in Romania’s capital,
Bucharest.
The Eastern European country is one of Citi’s key
markets and the opening of the smart banking branch is part of the
bank’s strategy to grow its retail banking business in the
country.
The launch follows the opening of such branches
in New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong and
Singapore.
Citi Romania’s smart banking branch has an ATM
that dispenses the local currency, lei, as well as euros.
It also features a 24-hour video conferencing
service through which customers can contact a financial advisor
seven days a week and terminals for online transactions.
