Mashreq has brought the second of its E Cube branches to a shopping centre in Dubai.
The concept branch contains technology points for customers to make transactions and open a credit or debit account in less than 30 minutes. The branch at Dubai’s Ibn Battuta Mall is integrated with Mashreq’s online banking, allowing customers to fill out paperwork online before visiting the branch.
Shaker Zainal, the head of distribution at Mashreq, said the branch would speed up customer service at the bank. "We continue to explore ways to evolve customer experience every single time they visit our branches and we can see that with our E Cube retail concept," he said.
Mashreq’s E Cube was launched at the Dubai Internet City branch in June 2013 and is set to be rolled out in 5 other branches by the end of the year.
"We have a roadmap and in the next 30 days we will launch it in three branches in the UAE. Mall of Emirates and Dubai Mall will open in the next 30 days," Zainal said.
At the opening of the branch on Thursday 7 August, the head of retail banking at Mashreq Farhad Irani guided customers through the branch’s technology points. "Our endeavour is to continue simplifying banking and offer customers with real technology led products and services. We have come a long way in the innovation space and we will continue to do so," he said.
