Ohio-headquartered Fifth Third Bank has
agreed a major sponsorship deal with NHL franchise The
Nashville Predators.
Nashville Predators
executive vice president marketing officer Chris Parker said in a
statement: “Building upon their successful participation in our
organisation’s recently completed credit facility, we are pleased
to announce that Fifth Third has signed a letter of intent to
become the Official Bank of the Nashville Predators and Bridgestone
Arena effective immediately.
“This partnership
will cross several platforms and consist of multiple sponsorship
elements at both the team and building level.
Fifth Third has total
assets of around $112bn and a distribution network of 1,311
branches and 2,437 ATMs.
The NHL has enjoyed a
long running association with the banking sector.
The Philadelphia Flyers
play at the Wells Fargo Center; the Boston Bruins’ venue is the TD
Garden and the Buffalo Sabres play at the HSBC Arena.
In Canada, the Ottawa
Senators host their games at Scotiabank Place while in the South
East of the US, the Carolina Hurricanes’ venue is the RBC
Center.
Other such deals in
the NHL include Calgary Flames (venue -Scotiabank Saddledome),
Florida Panthers (BankAtlantic Center) and St Louis Blues
(Scottrade Center).
