Standard Chartered has begun rolling
out a global brand campaign underpinned by its continued drive to
grow market share across Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

The bank said ‘Here for good’, the
slogan behind the marketing campaign, underpins the banks drive for
continued growth.

The scheme, developed by advertising
agency TBWA, will run globally in television, print, digital and
outdoor media and comes ahead of the bank’s sponsorship of the UK’s
Liverpool football club from July 2010.

“Our brand is all about commitment,”
said Peter Sands, the bank’s chief executive.

“We are here for good [and] don’t
run when things get tough. We don’t dodge tough decisions and
trade-offs.

“This is the way we do business: it
has underpinned our strategy and success and it will be the
foundation for our future.”

The bank has delivered record income
and profit for seven successive years, winning customers and market
share, despite the threat of a global downturn. Its 13% rise in
fiscal 2009 pre-tax profits beat expectations thanks in part to a
revival in consumer banking revenues.
