Starling Bank, a UK-based mobile challenger bank, has joined forces with VocaLink’s Pay by Bank mobile app to help its customers make online payments easily.
The VocaLink app will allow Starling customers make real-time payments from their existing mobile banking app.

Starling Bank COO Julian Sawyer said: “Pay by Bank app’s ‘token’ technology means financial data never leaves the customer’s banking app during a transaction, staying safe and secure. This is an exciting innovation and we are proud to be part of helping it become a more mainstream form of online payments.”
Sawyer stated that Pay by Bank app “not only allows customers to bank and transact on the go, but also to benefit from a greater range of choice and sense of security”.
Last month, Starling Bank partnered with British fintech startup Transferwise for money transfers. Earlier this month, the bank teamed up with mobile app Moneybox to provide its customers access to the latter’s saving and investing tools.
