Dominican Republic-based Banco Popular Dominicano has selected digital security company Gemalto for bio-sourced Optelio EMV bank card.
The green banking card, which is manufactured from renewable PLA material derived from corn, will enable the lender to slash the ecological footprint while ensuring a high quality product for cardholders, according to Gemalto.
The card is distributed by Gemalto’s local reseller Secumatic. It will provide customers with value added benefits including discounts on sporting event tickets and deals at major restaurants and hotels.
