The Luxembourg banking community has chosen Worldline’s Access Control Server (ACS) solution for 3D-Secure, in collaboration with Luxembourg-based certification authority LuxTrust.
The move comes as Luxembourg and other 27 European national authorities pledged to adhere to the European Banking Authority (EBA) guidelines, which require strong authentication to secure internet payments in order to combat fraud.
The guidelines have been effective since 1 August 2015 and will apply till the expected introduction of the PSD2 requirements in 2018/19.
The 3D-Secure has been designed to fight fraud by enabling verification of cardholder authentication during e-commerce transactions.
Worldline’s ACS solution, which is delivered in SaaS mode, offers straightforward workflow management, activity monitoring and reporting, along with fraud prevention tools.
