Santander Bank has extended its agreement with the ATM owner/operator Cardtronics to expand its fee-free ATM network in the US.

As a result of the collaboration, the bank has added 200 new machines to its ATM network. The cash-dispensers have been installed in Market Basket grocery stores in Massachusetts as well as CVS Pharmacy stores in the Northeast.

With these additional locations, Santander currently has more than 2,000 ATMs available to customers throughout the bank’s eight-state operations from New Hampshire to Delaware.

Santander Bank co-president and head of consumer and business banking Michael Cleary said: “Offering our fee-free ATMs at popular retailers is one of the many ways we show our customers how we respect their time and money.

“By expanding our ATM service relationship with Cardtronics, we are creating greater convenience for our customers and improving their banking experience with Santander.”

Santander Bank said it customer can now use the ATMs to withdraw cash, transfer money between accounts and check their account balance without incurring fees.

Out of the total new machines, 41 have been installed in the Market Basket grocery stores in Massachusetts while 173 have been placed in new CVS Pharmacy locations, bring the number of Santander-branded ATMs in CVS Pharmacy stores to over 1,100.

Santander said that the bank will continue to work with Cardtronics to add more ATMs at Market Basket stores in Massachusetts and CVS Pharmacies across the Northeast as they become available.
