France’s Sopra Banking Software has joined forces with UK-based digi.me in order to enhance banking data security.

Under the agreement, Sopra will leverage the Private Sharing solution from digi.me that enables one to share data with third parties in a secure manner.

digi.me claims that its technology enables banks to get 100% accurate and real-time customer data.

The data is evaluated on the customer’s device. The assessment can be done only following the consent of the customer.

The latest alliance builds on the two parties existing relationship, which started last year with digi.me winning the first edition of the Sopra Banking Open Banking Challenge.

The challenge aimed to create innovative services demo for banks utilising the Digital eXperience Platform (DxP) from Sopra.

Sopra product marketing director Bruno Cambounet said: “Customers can be offered truly relevant services such as a customised home insurance quote or mortgage plan based on more accurate and up-to-date personal data.

“By having Private Sharing access to such data, which upholds the individual’s privacy, banks can improve their customer acquisition ratio due to better understanding of each individual client’s needs.”

Earlier this year, Sopra agreed to acquire French core banking software vendor SAB.
