By GlobalDataThe entrance features spectacular immersive screens, occupying a total area of 150 square metres. In particular, it displays images of natural landscapes to welcome visitors.
The bank says that the goal is for customers to feel as if they have entered an “urban oasis”. That is, something that is completely different to the typical setting in commercial spaces.
Innovative technological services include biometric ATMs enabling customers to make withdrawals using facial recognition.
Caixa says that the technology offers a better user experience and increased security during transaction. Specifically, it streamlines the customer identification process and allows customers to make withdrawals without having to memorise multiple passwords.
The Valencia branch features five ATMs with facial recognition.
Services beyond banking
The branch also incorporates a range of services that go beyond just banking. For example, the branch will produce its own content on a range of topics in the form of a monthly event calendar. These events will be open to all, whether a CaixaBank customer or not.
The bank plans to open a second “all in one” branch in Barcelona in the fourth quarter.
Caixa has a strong track record for branch innovation. For example, in 2015 Caixa launched its ‘store’ concept branches. These offer significant innovations both in design, with open spaces and the elimination of barriers between advisers and customers. In addition, the outlets feature extended opening hours and specialised advice for the private banking segment.
Currently, this store concept applies to more than 350 Caixa branches across Spain.
Furthermore, CaixaBank has attracted positive publicity for its innovative imaginCafé.
This outlet occupies 1,200 square metres in Barcelona and opened in 2017.
The imaginCafé is inspired by the values of the imaginBank brand, the mobile-only bank created by CaixaBank for young people. The imaginCafé offers a robust activity programme and has been set up as a platform for online and offline contents.
