UK-based savings institutions company Nationwide has opened a new digital hub in Swindon to deliver new digital services to the building society’s 16 million members.

The new hub is located at the Ramsbury House in Swindon, UK.

The tech hub is expected to accommodate nearly 700 digital, data, engineering, architecture, development operations and design specialisms roles.

It will also house Nationwide’s business banking team.

Nationwide branch and workplace development director Richard Newland said: “The opening of this building is a huge milestone for Nationwide and a culmination of months of careful planning.

“This is a multi-million-pound investment for Swindon, the Society, our colleagues and our members and will accelerate our approach towards digital innovation and technology.

“We’ve designed the space using industry-leading best practices to ensure our people are equipped to continue to provide the very best services and experiences for our members.

“We’re incredibly proud to bring this world-class facility to our home in Swindon.”

Last year, Nationwide announced its expansion plans in Swindon and London.

The same year, the company also announced that it would invest an additional £1.3bn in technology, totalling £4.1bn investment over the next five years.

Ramsbury House site features

It features calm and relaxing spaces, an onsite gym, a cycle park, and a ‘town hall’ space for employee gatherings and meetings.

The site will include a digital and technology innovation centre for which the construction work is already underway.

100% of its energy needs come from renewable sources and recyclable materials are being used throughout its construction.
