MCB Bank, a Pakistan-based financial service provider, is set to upgrade its core banking system using Oracle WebLogic Suite.

The upgrade will allow MCB Bank to reduce system downtime and support its online business growth. The updated core banking application will increase daily transactions numbers for retail and corporate banking services from current 400,000 to 1 million transactions in the next few years.

Under the deal, MCB Bank will also use Oracle WebLogic Suite with Oracle WebLogic Server 12c to grow its return on investment (ROI) from its new core banking application.

The WebLogic Suite also aims to improve MCB’s web experience management, portals, enterprise content management and enterprise social collaboration technology.

MCB Bank information technology group head, Imtiaz Mahmood, said Oracle WebLogic Suite is the most reliable and scalable solution for their core banking platform upgrade because it will enable seamless integration with the database, primarily based on Oracle technologies.

"The new platform provides high performance for online banking services and supports our future growth requirements," Mahmood added.
