Diebold Nixdorf, the entity formed following the recently concluded acquisition of German ATM manufacturer Wincor Nixdorf by American rival Diebold, has opened an office in Yangon, Myanmar.
The company had earlier been operating in the country through third-party business partners, offering self-service technology to local banks, and also has 30 service staff in the country.
Diebold Nixdorf senior vice president and managing director of Asia Pacific Neil Emerson said: “By establishing a local office in the country it will help us build a closer relationship with our customers and serve them better.”
The company also intends to help retailers looking to foray into Myanmar with its automation, omni-channel and lifecycle management solutions.
Diebold Nixdorf country manager of Myanmar Piers Leach said: “We have seen a significant growth in the banking industry in Myanmar over the last few years and we have already been a long and established partner for most of the country's leading commercial banks.
“We are excited to more effectively grow our partnership with clients with a new, direct presence in the country.”
