CertusBank has overhauled its digital banking and social media offering in a bid to appeal to internet-savvy users.

The US-based lender took just three months to redesign its website design, online banking process and mobile app, with the support of IT vendor Backbase.

While the bank’s redesigned digital platforms offer customers the same payments and balance enquiry services, CertusBank – which operates over 30 retail branches in the US – says its new website is easier for customers to navigate.

The design has integrated the bank’s mobile and online banking facilities, and integrated the marketing section of the CertusBank website with its internet banking pages.

Doug Meagher, head of e-commerce at CertusBank, explained that the redesign aided the bank’s marketing team by creating a portal to manage digital platforms.

"With Backbase Portal Manager’s ability to empower our marketing team to manage the digital platform, and run cross- and up-sell campaigns, we have exactly what we needed to give our customers the experience they deserve," he said.

The design company’s manager, Herber de Ruijter from BackBase, said: "From our initial conversations, to the launch of the new website, it was very clear that the bank has a strong digital vision and is focused on consistently improving their online customer experience. It’s great to see how they have transformed their vision into reality."
