Belgian neobank NewB has turned to security solutions provider OneSpan to safeguard its digital channels.

The digital-only bank has implemented OneSpan Cloud Authentication and Mobile Security Suite for this purpose.

According to the vendor, its scalable authentication framework allows the bank to meet PSD2 requirements.

NewB looks to secure its app and customer data as well as detect and reduce mobile malware attacks leveraging OneSpan Cloud Authentication and Mobile Security Suite with application shielding.

The challenger bank also intends to scale its customer base by over 300% this year with OneSpan’s cloud technologies.

Commenting on the latest alliance, NewB product manager Adrien Liénard said: “We partnered with OneSpan for its expertise and ease of implementation, which helped us successfully obtain our banking licence and go to market.

“From the launch of our services, we were able to offer our customers an easy-to-use and secure digital banking experience.”

In May this year, Belfius Bank in Belgium partnered with OneSpan to protect its customers from cybercrime and mobile banking frauds.

The lender integrated OneSpan Mobile Security Suite (MSS) into its mobile app to make banking transactions safer.
