Europe witnessed a 7.9% drop in IT hiring activity in the banking and payments industry in December 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard. December 2021 has seen a decrease of 7.33% in the overall hiring activity when compared with November 2021. IT jobs accounted for a 17.93% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in December 2021, registering a decrease of 0.12% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in December 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 62.79% in December 2021, a 6.72% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 13.85% in December 2021, marking a 7.93% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 13.8% in December 2021, a 33.87% drop from November 2021. Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 5.99% in December 2021, a 27.52% decline over the previous month.
Top five banking and payments companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 49.47% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s banking and payments industry during December 2021 over previous month. KBC Ancora posted 360 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered an increase of 249.51% over the previous month, followed by KBC Group with 356 jobs and an 8.21% growth. ING Group with 300 IT jobs and SIX Group with 203 jobs, recorded a 167.86% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while JPMorgan Chase recorded a 3.08% decline with 189 job postings during December 2021.
