Information and communications technology
company Huawei has launched eSpace virtual teller machine (VTM) in
Malaysia.

Huawei aims to transform the overall consumer
banking experience in Malaysia with the eSpace VTM.

The eSpace VTM aims to integrate multiple
service channels within banks – such as telephone banking, Internet
banking, bank offices and ATMs – into a new service model.

The self-service kiosk is designed to allow
consumers to carry out their banking transactions in a safe and
comfortable environment.

Local banks will be able to customise the
eSpace VTM to their specific needs, according to Huawei.

The new eSpace VTM will reportedly support a
range of traditional banking functions such as account opening and
management, card application and issuance, withdrawal, bank
transfer and remittance.

It will also support self-service payment,
financing, foreign exchange trading, investment and wealth
management services.

An electronic handwriting board will
be a feature of the Huawei eSpace VTM – capturing a customer’s
handwritten signature and attaching it to documents. The signatures
will be encrypted for security purposes.

Other features of the eSpace VTM will include
a touchscreen panel, cheque deposit scanner and container, printer,
chip card reader and encoder.

The eSpace VTM aims to enable consumers to
have video conversations – in high definition – with a bank’s
service processing personnel and finance experts.
