Erste Group will introduce a new logo in
2012.
Erste Group has begun discussions on the
replacement for its current logo, the typical red S for savings
banks.
Michael Mauritz, spokesperson for Erste,
told RBI that the bee logo, which was formerly used by
many savings banks in Austria and central and Eastern Europe, was a
“hot candidate”.
He said that Erste was holding discussions
with the Austrian savings banks about the replacement logo for the
red S, but added that the Austria-headquartered bank had not
reached a decision yet on whether the red S symbol will remain
after all, or what the exact graphic of the new logo will look
like.
Erste said that it expects to reach a decision
on the look of the new logo as soon as possible and have it ready
for roll out in the second quarter of 2012.
