UK-based company HSBC’s IT hiring declined 11.7% in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 12.28% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.
IT jobs claimed a 14.67% share in the company’s total hiring activity in June 2022, and recorded a 0.38% growth over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops HSBC IT hiring in June 2022
Out of the total IT job titles posted by HSBC, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 51.7% in June 2022, and a 26.02% drop over May 2022, while Computer and Information Analysts claimed a share of 22.44% in June 2022, and registered a decline of 21%. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 19.03% in June 2022, a 48.85% drop from May 2022.

Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global banking and payments IT hiring activity in June 2022 with an 84.94% share, which marked a 30.3% drop over the previous month.
Europe stood next with 7.67%, registering a 44.9% month-on-month decline. North America was the third leading region with a 7.1% share and a 35.9% drop over May 2022.
In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 0.28% and a month-on-month flat growth.
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s banking and payments industry IT hiring activity with a 55.11% share in June 2022, a 36.81% decline over May 2022. China featured next with a 21.02% share, down 14.94% over the previous month. Hong Kong (China SAR) recorded a 6.82% share, a decline of 11.11% compared with May 2022.
Junior Level jobs lead HSBC IT hiring activity in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.18%, down by 27.05% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 23.01% share, a decline of 42.96% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.53% share, down 11.54% over May 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.27%, recording a month-on-month decline of 69.23%.
