Dutch banking group ABN AMRO has opened branch in Shanghai that will focus on serving the bank’s corporate clients in the region.
The bank, which has been present in Shanghai with a representative office since April 2012, recently received all necessary approvals from regulators for the representative office to become a branch.
The Shanghai branch will be managed by Arthur Zou, the bank said in a statement.
ABN AMRO chairman of the managing board Gerrit Zalm said: "With a branch we are able to offer our clients a broader range of services and products. It also marks a further step in our selective international growth ambition."
In Asia Pacific region, ABN AMRO caters to corporate and private banking clients from offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney as well as Tokyo.
