AU Small Finance Bank, an Indian small finance lender, has enabled savings bank account opening on messaging platform WhatsApp.
Leveraging an interactive chat-like interface on the messaging app, the bank’s customers can open an account in less than five minutes.
The service harnesses Karix Mobile’s Actionable Messaging Compute platform.
AU Small Finance Bank executive director Uttam Tibrewal said: “By adopting newer technologies in our daily operations, the endeavour is to make our Bank a preferred choice for customers. WhatsApp is a widely used messaging app across all segments of the country.
“This initiative helps in providing a safe, seamless and contextual customer experience for inclusive banking.”
The bank intends to enable many other interactive services on Whatsapp later.
