Banco de Credito del Peru (BCP) has awarded a contract to Diebold for the installation of more than 1000 new Opteva automated teller machines (ATMs) across the country.
According to Diebold, the new ATMs will be installed across the country, including various remote areas, to expand Peruvians’ access to BCP’s services.
BCP alternative channels manager Arturo Johnson said, "We have a strong commitment to serve the entire country of Peru. And that means extending our self-service banking network to reach even the most remote consumers."
The technology will allow BCP ATM users to make envelope-free cash and check deposits at the ATM, replacing traditional in-branch teller transactions with convenient self-service transactions.
Under the terms of the agreement, Diebold will also offer maintenance services to ensure greater availability of BCP’s entire multivendor fleet of about 1,800 ATMs.
Currently, BCP operates a fleet of 1,700 Opteva ATMs, including an array of cash dispensers and advanced-function, deposit automation-enabled terminals.
