Bank of Ireland has agreed to sponsor Munster Rugby’s women senior team until 2023.
The move expands the long association between Bank of Ireland and the Munster Rugby team.
Bank of Ireland will now appear on the front of the Women’s Senior Squad playing jersey. Additionally, the lender will continue to sponsor the men’s squad.
As agreed, the new association will start with the Vodafone Women’s Interprovincial Championship games and will continue for the following two seasons.
Bank of Ireland Area South director Ian McMorrough said: “Bank of Ireland has been a proud partner of Munster Rugby for over 20 years.
“We are delighted to now have the opportunity to expand our partnership to include the Women’s game. Supporting and encouraging participation in sport by women is part of Bank Of Ireland’s and Munster Rugby’s shared ambition of building engagement and participation across the all our communities through the sport of rugby.”

By GlobalDataIn June this year, the Government of Ireland announced plans to sell a part of its 13.9% directed shareholding in Bank of Ireland.
The divestment will be carried out through a pre-arranged trading plan over this year.
At the time of announcement, the government owned around 150.4 million ordinary shares in Bank of Ireland with a combined valuation of €700m.
