Bankart, a Slovenian clearing company, has teamed up with Nordic payments processor Nets to offer a new payments central infrastructure for the country’s banking sector to manage SEPA Credit Transfers (SCT) non-urgent and SCT instant credit transfers.
Nets will deploy an instant payments platform using its RealTime24/7 payments solution. The firm will also operate the platform from its data centres in Norway.
Commenting on the alliance, Bankart managing director Aleksander Kurtevski said: “Our ambition is to lay a future proof foundation for a whole new eco-system that will ensure new innovative services to be deployed by our customer banks, and ensure that the Slovenian community will have services which are both competitive and cost effective and at the same time enables the best user experience both in day to day banking and commerce.”
The new platform is expected to be live in September 2018.
Nets Clearing Services division chief sales officer Stig Korsgaard said: “This agreement marks another important milestone in Nets’ business expansion strategy and a first example of how a modern instant payments platform can be deployed for both instant payments and non-urgent payments forming a single processing engine serving the full value chain for all types of account-to-account payments and other related financial information including support for PSD2.”
