Nicaragua-based bank Banpro in collaboration with Canadian banking technology firm Finn.ai has rolled out an AI-powered virtual assistant to help its customers carry out their banking services with ease.

The Spanish-speaking virtual assistant is available via Facebook Messenger, a channel used by 50% of Nicaraguans.

Banpro executive vice president Julio Ramirez said: “Our mission is to respond to the needs of our customers in a dynamic and accessible way. By partnering with Finn.ai, we were able to deliver a conversational banking model that our customers can use to easily manage their money via their favourite platform – Facebook Messenger.

”We selected Finn.ai based on their domain knowledge of banking and their commitment to deliver a fluently Spanish virtual assistant.”

Finn.aiCEO Jake Tyler said: “We are proud to join forces with Banpro to launch our first Spanish-speaking personal banking assistant. This important release illustrates the strength and scalability of our multilingual platform, a key ingredient in our global business strategy.”

The Finn.ai chatbot will allow Banpro’s account holders to get answers to common questions such as location of a branch, current account balances and recent transaction history, within the Facebook Messenger platform itself.
