BT has teamed up with Israeli start-up communications company, Idomoo, to integrate a personal video messaging service into its cloud contact portfolio of services.

The cloud based service allows banks and other businesses to create a video template and then apply a customer’s data to create an individual message with personalised voice narration.

Banks using the service would be able to send short, high resolution, tailored messages to their customers, replacing cold calls or mailshots.

The service provides a range of functions such as marketing, on-boarding, statements and other customer communications. BT said most languages can be selected by the customer for both text and voice and the message can be delivered to computer, tablet, smartphone or smart TV. BT said the service has been piloted by two leading UK retail banks.

Andrew Small, vice president, Unified Communications and Customer Relationship Management (CRM), BT Global Services, said: "Our new service helps businesses connect with their customers in a much more creative and engaging way.

He added: "This ultimately leads to greater confidence in brand and increased customer loyalty, resulting in great business outcomes."
