CaixaBank opens an all-in-one flagship centre in Madrid’s Plaza de Colón on 12 July. Specifically, the store is located in in the prominent Norman Foster designed Axis building. This is CaixaBank’s third all-in-one centre in Spain, augmenting flagship stores in Valencia and Barcelona. In particular, the Valencia store opened in July 2019, Barcelona in December that year.
CaixaBank’s Madrid flagship store represents more than 4,000 square metres, distributed over four floors and a terrace. The store is staffed by a team of more than 130 bank personnel. The all-in-one store features dedicated space for retail banking customers, premier banking, private banking and professionals.
And it offers two auditoriums and more than 40 offices for private meetings plus a multifunctional area for informal meetings.
The auditorium offers a capacity for 160 spectators and is equipped with the latest audio-visual technologies to stream events. In addition, a second smaller space seats 40 people while an outdoor terrace features panoramic views of Plaza Colón.
CaixaBank ‘all in one’ Madrid centre: serving 27,000 customers
CaixaBank says that a total client portfolio of 27,000 customers will be served from the ‘all in one’ Madrid centre. Technology features include ATMs with facial recognition and wrap-around screens with specially created content. The ATM software recognises and validates 16,000 points on the customer’s face to guarantee totally secure identification.
CaixaBank was the first financial institution in the world to implement this technology.

CaixaBank all-in-one store: commitment to accessibility
The ‘all in one’ Madrid centre incorporates relevant new features in terms of accessibility. These include the magnetic loop, a technology to reduce interference from ambient noise for people with hearing difficulties. The store also offers braille maps of the different areas and spaces and raised flooring at the branch entrances.
The CaixaBank ‘all in one’ flagship centres complement the bank’s ‘Store’ branches concept. Launched in 2013 this concept features over 550 branches throughout Spain with 53 in the Madrid region.
