CaixaBank has started deploying a new ATM technology platform to provide a uniform omni-channel experience to the customers.
The platform, ATMNow, is developed to offer similar browsing flows that users experience on online channels.
The Spanish lender began the implementation of ATMNow project by equipping 50 ATMs in Barcelona with the new platform.
CaixaBank now plans to expand the programme and complete the deployment on 9,000 ATMs by the end of July.
Additionally, all Bankia-network ATMs will be integrated to the platform in the second half of 2021.

ATMNow also provides CaixaBank’s ATMs with additional functions to improve services. It includes expediting cash withdrawal process to two steps and enabling option menu customisation.

The redesigned ATM screens free up space to allow CaixaBank to provide information to help users.
Furthermore, the customers can set up specific operations through the app or the website and later execute it at an ATM after authenticating their identity.
These new functions will be added gradually.
CaixaBank is also adding facial-recognition technology to the ATMs amid surge in transactions will less contact.
Currently, more than 700 ATMs throughout Spain are equipped with this biometric technology.

Last month, the Spanish lender announced its Q1 2021 results. The bank’s underlying net profit in the quarter jumped from €90m to €514m on a year-on-year basis.
