US-based Chemcel Federal Credit Union (CFCU) has awarded Cardtronics a contract to manage its network of ATMs.

The credit union has outsourced its whole network including in-branch and off-premise ATM services to Cardtronics.

CFCU offers financial services such as loans, savings, investments, credit cards, digital services, and others. It operates in Jim Wells, Kleberg, and Nueces counties in Texas.

CFCU said by outsourcing its ATM services it could focus more on customer experience, which is critical to its banking strategy.

CFCU president and CEO Michael Engel said: “The decision to outsource ATMs and the ongoing responsibility to maintain a limited fleet was driven by the fact that this product, while essential, was not core to what we do best.

“Partnering with Cardtronics enables CFCU to devote more time and staff resources to core products such as checking accounts and loans. Cardtronics’ ability to manage the required servicing and upgrades, plus the fact CFCU has had a highly positive relationship with Cardtronics, made the decision simple.”
