Citigroup has launched its digital wallet Citi Pay in the US with online, in-app and tap and pay capabilities.

The bank launched the service in Australia, Singapore and Mexico last year with tap and pay features.

Customers will be able to make online and in-app purchases by simply using their existing Citibank online user ID and password. The bank partnered with MasterCard and the network’s Masterpass service to facilitate such transactions.

Customers with an Android device can make in-store purchases by tapping their Android mobile devices at any NFC-enabled point-of-sale terminal. Citi Pay is not available as an iOS app.

Citi Pay is the latest digital payments announcement from the bank. Earlier this year in the US, Citi joined the Zelle Network to enable P2P payments and also partnered with PayPal.
