Citigroup has posted a full year net income of
$10.6bn, compared to a net loss of $1.6bn a year ago.

The bank generated $15.8bn in revenues from its
retail banking business, an increase of 7% from the previous
year.

Average retail banking deposits increased by 3%
to $301.9bn year-to-date.

Citi’s regional retail banking highlights in
fiscal 2010 included:

  • In Latin America, the bank’s retail banking revenues grew by
    14% to $5bn;
  • Income from continuing retail banking operations in Latin
    America rose 39% to $1bn;
  • Income from its retail banking business in Asia rose 20% to
    $1.5bn year-to-date.

Chase had kicked off the US
reporting season
on 14 January with a full year net profit of
$17.4bn, up 48% from $11.7bn the prior year.
