Using SMS Pay, Citi aims to send customers a text message when their credit card bill is ready and customers can make a minimum or full payment of that bill by replying to the message.

By GlobalDataThe SMS payment service is, reportedly, part of the bank’s strategy to expand its mobile banking capabilities as it aims to be the world’s leading digital bank.
Shirley Ramli, head of e-business at Citibank Singapore, said: "With Citi SMS Pay, customers avoid the hassle of writing cheques or queuing up to pay their bill. They will also receive a mini-statement and payment reminder via SMS so they no longer have to worry about missing their credit card bill."
Ramli further said that Citi plans to invest further in its mobile banking capabilities over the next few years.
"We are working to add more than just bill payments, fund transfers, credit card applications, stocks, rewards redemptions and locating ATMs and merchants on mobile," she added.
