Commonwealth Bank and Cricket Australia have announced the renewal of their partnership for three more years for the development of the women’s game.
The lender has teamed up with Cricket Australia for over three decades and claimed that its investment has aided in the development of over 70 girls only leagues.

By GlobalDataCommonwealth Bank added that since 2016 there has been a 70% growth in girls registered for club cricket and entry-level programs and over 40% growth in girls’ school competitions.
In the next three years, the bank plans to invest to promote gender equality and provide more opportunities through ‘The Next Innings: Accelerating Female Participation’ strategy.
The lender has also invested in cricket’s diversity and inclusion programs since 2017-18.
CBA group executive of marketing and corporate affairs Monique Macleod said: “Our goal is for cricket to be a sport for all and we hope to achieve this over the next three years by funding not only the women’s game but also delivering targeted initiatives to engage diverse and inclusive teams and communities.”
Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley said: “We are incredibly grateful for all the support that Commonwealth Bank has given to cricket over the past 30 years and it is so exciting to continue our partnership at this time of tremendous growth and opportunity for the women’s game.”
Last month, Commonwealth Bank became the official naming rights partner of the Australian women’s football team, the Matildas, Junior Matildas and Young Matildas.
