The app will allow users, irrespective of whether they are DNB customers or not, access all personal and business accounts from across Norway.

DNB head of open banking Per Kristian Næss Fladset said: “With Nordic API Gateway, we’re taking full advantage of the opportunities PSD2 creates. It’s a unique opportunity to aggregate account information from other players to give our customers a full financial overview of our new mobile bank.

“Now, we have a clear chance of owning the relationship with our customers no matter how many banks they have. This is an important step in the direction of becoming the mobile bank for all Norwegians.”

Last year, DNB and Danske Bank became co-owners of Nordic API Gateway. Together, the businesses are building the PSD2 infrastructure across the Nordics.

Nordic APIGateway was developed to standardise the format of financial data and payments, enabling frictionless financial futures for all.

Clients of Nordic APIGateway include various banks, several start-ups, retails and ERP providers across Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland.

DNB offers a range of financial services, including loans, savings, advisory services, insurance and pension products for retail and corporate customers.
