Emirates NBD announced the launch of instant account opening for new customers from their smartphone.
The new offering allows salaried UAE residents to open a current or savings account digitally. To do this, customers must download the Emirates NBD mobile banking app from Apple or Google Play app stores.
Suvo Sarkar, SEVP & Group Head, Emirates NBD, said: “As the world turns increasingly digital, consumers expect immediate and anytime access to banking services. Our new mobile account opening is a big step in this direction, where new customers can open an account instantly and at their convenience without the need to visit a branch or fill forms.”
New customers must scan in their passport, Emirates ID documents along with a selfie to open an account instantly. Customers will then receive a welcome pack including their personalised debit card and cheque book.
All new customers opening accounts through the app and maintaining AED 5,000 in average account balances will be entered into the bank’s Save. Win. Drive. promotion. This means customers could win one of three Mercedes Maybach S-650 cars and 180 Omega Speedmaster watches.
Additionally, customers can request a credit card and refer friends and family members to open an account.
