Kazakhstan’s Eurasian Bank has launched its mobile banking app, developed with mobile payment company Monitise.
The app, launched in Russian, Kazakh and English, is now available for download on iPhones and Android devices, with iPad and Windows Phone versions expected to follow later.
"The launch of our new mobile application is testament to the strength of our retail business and its drive to bring world-class innovations to banking in Kazakhstan," said Michael Eggleton, CEO Eurasian Bank.
"This marks the next step in the journey that we’ve been taking to re-shape our services around the changing needs of our customers, reflecting how mobile is really at the heart of the future of banking services."
The app will allow customers to access their transaction history, make transfers, pay bills, block transactions, apply for credit and also has an ATM, branch and POS finder function.
Monitise Create, the division of Monitise that worked with the lender to develop the app, focuses on mobile innovation and design and also develops white-labelled services for its clients.

By GlobalDataAlistair Crane, CEO Monitise Create, said: "Pioneering mobile experiences are the cornerstone of what we do.
"In working with Eurasian Bank to both design and develop a market-leading mobile banking application for them, we’ve been able to apply our extensive experience in creating commercially game-changing mobile propositions to deliver something that’s a real first for the region."
The Monitise Create unit is a fairly recent addition to the company, being formed when Monitise acquired mobile innovation company Grapple Mobile during September 2013.
Before the acquisition, Grapple Mobile had worked with European brands Whitbread, Procter & Gamble, Sky and B&Q to develop smartphone and tablet apps.
