The receipt of the AISP status will enable the company to access the UK Open Banking infrastructure.

It will also authorise the company to retrieve account data provided by banks and financial institutions.

Digital Identity Net CEO Martin Wilson said: “We are delighted to be registered as an Account Information Service Provider. AISP status is a huge boost to the rollout of OneID, as we make the service fully available to all businesses and individuals.

“I am really looking forward to delivering the many economic and social benefits that a truly game-changing and trusted digital identity solution will bring to the UK.”

The FCA said that the grant of AISP status is aimed at accelarting the rollout of OneID, which is the digital identity platform set to enter testing phase with key banks and businesses in the UK.

The solution is designed to offer customers a “simple and secure” way to open and manage their online bank accounts.

Martin added: “The formal AISP registration demonstrates the priority we give to our security and data responsibilities. It further strengthens our drive to help businesses and banks seize the opportunities created by Open Banking and enable individuals to control their own digital data.”
