Gulf International Bank BSC (GIB) has rolled out its trial phase for retail banking services under the Meem brand name for Saudi customers.
Leveraging new technology, the lender will offer an array of non-traditional products that are considered a new addition to the Saudi banking sector, as reported by arabnews.com.
Using different social media channels, the bank has implemented the co-creation concept with a large target customer base to contribute to the shaping of Meem’s identity, and defining the bank’s product offering across the establishment phase.
GIB CEO Yahya Alyahya was quoted by Arab News as saying, "that the launch of "meem" comes in response to the needs of a wide array of customers who want a new breed of banking services.
"By launching meem, we are enabling customers to benefit from a range of banking services that are both simple and flexible by availing effective solutions, which create a smooth and holistic banking experience," Alyahya told the publication.
Under its Meem brand, GIB provides a comprehensive suite of Shariah-compliant non-traditional banking services that are approved by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) and target a technophile customer base.
Meem network includes service centers located in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dhahran, and is led by GIB Saudi head office in Dhahran.
