Dutch bank ING has opened its new corporate office in Amsterdam’s innovation district Cumulus Park.
The office, named Cedar, is one of the five ING office buildings that form Cumulus Park.
ING joined with the Municipality of Amsterdam, the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and the ROC Amsterdam to create Cumulus Park.
Ralph Hamers, ING CEO, said: “This new building embodies all we aspire to. It’s open and transparent, as nearly all walls are made of glass, and it creates an atmosphere that encourages collaboration. The building will play a central role within Cumulus Park, inspiring new ways to innovate. And, with Cedar we reduced the consumption of natural resources as much as possible.”
Sustainability
Cedar was awarded the highest sustainability rating by BREEAM-NL. It was partially built with the concrete from the previous building on the same location.
In addition, around 3,000 square metres of solar panels provide the energy for the building. Meanwhile, the building has triple glazing and insulated window frames to save energy.
