KBC multi-banking function

A new KBC multi-banking function is now available, enabling customers to view current account balances held with other banks.

It is the first bank in Ireland to embrace the benefits of allowing customers to see several accounts on one seamless platform. Under PSD2, all European banks must ensure that current accounts available to authorised third parties.

Those who bank with KBC but also have current accounts with AIB and Bank of Ireland can now see all their balances within the KBC app.

KBC features added to enhance customer experience

The KBC multi-banking function announcement follows on from a range of new features that KBC added in September 2018. The innovative and customer-centric features will strengthen its digital-first banking strategy.

KBC is also the only bank in Ireland to offer digital wallets from four of the world’s leading technology companies; Apple Pay, Google Pay, FitBit Pay and Garmin Pay.

KBC Bank Ireland’s director of transformation and innovation, Kelvin Gillen,said: “We are delighted to announce that KBC has launched the first phase of our multibanking approach. Our ambition is to change the way that Irish people bank by providing instant, accessible financial products and services with this being a big step on our journey towards achieving this. Customers can now check the balance of current accounts held with other financial institutions in our best-in-class digital wallet – another market first for KBC.
