Kuwait’s Boubyan Bank has teamed up with NCR Corporation to launch Kuwait’s first mini branch at the Kuwait International Airport.
The mini branch, powered by NCR Interactive Teller, will allow the bank’s centrally located video tellers to remotely provide 95% of the teller services available at a traditional branch.
The ATM-based technology allows people talk to live remote teller, as well as enables the teller remote control over the machine to conduct transactions including cash deposit and dispense with specific denominations, transfer between accounts, and cash or cheque acceptance without a card.
The NCR teller features a UV-enabled civil ID scanner and signature pad which helps identify and authenticate consumers, as well as request their approval to conduct transactions.
The small branch footprint concept will help the bank expand in new locations where a full-size branch cannot be set up.
