Japan’s Mizuho Bank has forayed into the US with the launch of a representative office in Washington on 10 October 2017.
The office will be primarily tasked to gather and analyze information related to the US policies, legislation and other political developments and make recommendations.
In 2016, Mizuho Bank has established a holding company in the US to reorganize its local subsidiaries.
Mizuho is developing its research and consulting services to redefine itself as a major financial services consulting group.
The new office also enables the Japanese lender to partner with banking, securities and trust service firms and thereby become a leading financial player across the globe.
“The new office in Washington, D.C., will enable us to update our clients on the latest trends and provide integrated research and consulting solutions for their global business development,” the bank said in a statement.
