MoneyGram has launched its money transfer services to Turkmenistan by partnering with Garagum Bank.

MoneyGram, in association with Garagum Bank, will enable Turkmen customers to transfer money conveniently and securely all across the globe.

MoneyGram’s expansion of its worldwide network to Turkmenistan is specifically aimed at catering athletes and visitors who will the country during the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in 2017.

MoneyGram executive vice president of business development Grant Lines said: "MoneyGram’s debut in Turkmenistan is an important achievement that strategically positions the company to reach previously underserved consumers.

"We are excited to work with Garagum Bank to provide consumers with quick and secure money transfers to friends and family across the globe."

MoneyGram senior regional director for CIS countries Yevgeny V. Butyugin said: "MoneyGram’s operations in Turkmenistan will result in significant savings for Turkmen consumers. It will also provide increased access to locations for sending and receiving money in a reliable and secure manner."
