M&T Bank is planning to hire more than 1,000 people over the next five years in different technological roles.

The hiring is aimed to support the development and deployment of new technology and improve customer services.

The American lender will recruit people in different roles including software engineers, web developers and other digital positions.

It aims to fill up 250 positions by the end of this year.

Around 1,000 of the jobs will be located in Buffalo, New York and another 200 people will be based at Wilmington, Delaware.

The new employees will be eligible for a variety of benefits including the company’s annual bonus plan.

The lender also noted that it has around 1,900 vacancies across its banking operations.
