National Bank of Egypt (NBE) has selected BIO-key International’s PortalGuard Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform and an advanced Identity Governance solution to enhance its IT infrastructure.
The deployment leverages PortalGuard’s advanced Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Single Sign-On (SSO) capabilities to streamline and secure access across applications while enabling scalability for future SaaS models.
BIO-key’s PortalGuard technology is said to deliver a unified solution for secure, multi-level authentication.
National Bank of Egypt information security director Abeer Khedr said: “This project empowers us to secure access to our critical systems today and lays the groundwork for delivering secure and seamless authentication for millions of our B2B and B2C customers in the near future.”
BIO-key certified reseller Raya Information Technology is managing the deployment.
BIO-key EMEA managing director Alex Rocha said: “By securing all access points with multi-factor authentication and eliminating the need for multiple credentials, NBE can now provide employees with Single Sign-On access to all their applications.”
The deployment of MFA at login is a key outcome of this project, significantly enhancing security measures.
BIO-key plans to extend these capabilities to millions of B2B and B2C customers.
BIO-key Middle East and Africa regional director Nicholas Prinz said: “By leveraging BIO-key’s PortalGuard CIAM approach, we aim to deliver a secure and seamless customer experience that reduces fraud and mitigates cybersecurity scams. This will be achieved through direct integration with a Security Operations Center (SOC) equipped with advanced risk analysis tools.”
NBE caters to around 20 million customers through its network of 665 branches, offices, and banking units.
