Germany’s National-Bank has signed a five and a half year contract with French IT giant Atos to revamp its IT infrastructure.
Atos will be responsible for delivering data centre, server, mainframe, database and storage services, as well as maintenance of the internet and application servers. At the same time, the vendor will also be tasked with creating customised security solutions for the bank.
National-Bank’s current IT infrastructure will be moved to Atos’ Frankfurt am Main data centres, which the vendor claims provide the “highest requirements for safety, power supply and cooling”.
National-Bank head of banking operations Thomas Stephan said: “Thanks to this collaboration with Atos, we benefit from a secure, high-performance and trouble-free operation of our data center infrastructure. The management of our applications deliberately stays in-house.
“Our IT department is therefore prepared for upcoming challenges and also a company of our size can benefit from scale effects.”
