Nations Trust Bank of Sri Lanka has rolled out its new Mobile Banking app and FriMi – its mobile banking, payments & lifestyle app- using IdentityX biometric authentication platform from Daon.
The Mobile Banking app will allow users to check account balances, transfer funds to any account at any bank, pay utility bills, apply for loans and leases. FriMi is a fully-fledged digital bank that allows customers to sign up online and is completely free to use. FriMi is available on Android and iOS platforms.
The bank will make use of Daon’s IdentityX soft token, finger, face and voice authentication. The biometrics platform will be used for all customer authentication process flows such as setting up of authentication methods, ongoing customer login as well as step-up authentication. The bank also plans to use biometrics across other sections in the future.
Nations Trust Bank COO Thilak Piyadigama said: “In keeping with our commitment to providing progressive and convenient financial services, we chose to partner with Daon to provide our customers with the best user experience possible, while deploying a secure and scalable solution.”
