Oman’s alizz islamic bank has deployed NCR Corporation’s ATM-based interactive video technology that can deliver branch-banking services for customers.

The software-based platform, dubbed NCR Interactive Teller, is built on advanced hardware and features an interactive touchscreen.

NCR claims that its technology will enable the bank’s customers to complete over 95% of typical branch transactions at the ATM with the assistance of a live, remote teller.

Using the platform, the bank’s customers can execute all branch banking features including cash withdrawals above the daily limit, cash deposits, cheque deposit, cheque encashment, credit card payments, as well as money transfers.

alizz islamic bank CEO Salaam Al Shaksy commented: "We are very proud to be the first bank in the Sultanate to launch Interactive Teller, which will allow us to serve our customers with significantly extended hours without losing the personal contact that we value so much. The Interactive Teller provides an effective state-of-the-art approach to expand a bank’s network with branch transactions without the physical set up of an office."
