Raiffeisen Bank Group has announced plans to install 1,200 new Diebold Nixdorf ATMs equipped with advanced bill payment and contactless capabilities including quick response (QR) codes and near field communication (NFC) readers to maximise convenience and security.
The technology vendor said that its ATMs will allow consumers to make bill payments quickly by scanning the QR code printed on the bill as well as make changes or confirm the information from the scanned bill utilising the ATM's touchscreen display.
Customers having NFC-capable cards will be able to use the ATM's contactless capabilities.
Raiffeisen Bank Group member of the board Stefan Sandberger said: "With our investment in this state-of-the-art technology, we are acquiring future-proof solutions for the self-service channel for the next decade, and can continue to develop our offers in line with the wishes and needs of our customers."
Plans are also on to support cardless cash transactions for smartphone users through the ATMS in the future, Diebold said.
