The platform, first of its kind in Russia, will also enable firms to accept payments made through Apple Pay and Android Pay using Telegram bots.

The bank said that companies can set up their own bots using the bot assistant created by Telegram’s payment API – BotFather.

“When creating a bot, current partners of the Bank should select Sberbank as their payment provider and specify the identification code from their online acquiring contract with Sberbank. Companies that are not currently partners of the Bank can check whether payments are accepted from Sberbank by using the test login,” the bank said in its press statement.
